Sand dune in south western Russia

Once again, sauna tents wake up the convoy and after some coffee we hit the road with plans of getting within striking distance of Kazakhstan. About a half day into the drive we get to a good sized town where we plan on getting a few more rubles and some lunch. I don’t know what the town was called because we still don’t have a map of Russia. One of the guys in the convoy has a spot in mind from a guide book that he really wants to go to for lunch so we all tag along. After about a half hour of walking around in death heat and hassling all of the locals for directions we strip him of control and go into the first restaurant we see. Turns out that they are getting ready for a wedding reception, but they want to feed us anyways. As we were waiting for our meals the wedding party came in and started speeches and everything else. It was awkward, we ate quickly, quietly and hit the road once again. After it got dark we pulled over on a dirt road to find a place to camp and happened upon a little sand dune. We went for a bit of a chew and the Pale horse showed its dominance as we all knew it would. Great camp site, best sleep yet. Around 8 the next morning we were on the road in order to make it to the border crossing early in the day.
