Shenggeldi, Aug 15

We had a bit of a sleep in after our late night, crabbed a coffee, went to an internet café, and then met up with Roos, our friendly tour guide so he could take us up into the mountains to the south of the city. Very cool. By the time we left Almati it was already getting dark, and the ambulance had some police trouble because its lights don’t work so we only made it to a town called Shenggeldi before we called it a day. Unfortunately we camped 50’ from a buisy switching station and not far enough from some peoples homes who woke us at 3am, presumably drunk, for no reason that we could understand. Bad choice on the camping spot, rivalled the night near Sochi for the worst yet.
